I had never seen cookies like this before until they magically popped up on my Pinterest feed and my first thought was how perfect they are for Shabbat. Shabbat is the day of rest that comes after the creation of the natural world, so to me incorporating the most beautiful elements of nature into the enjoyment of Shabbat is meaningful.

Recipe
1 cup butter (softened) – use margarine for pareve recipe
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
Preheat oven to 350F. Combine butter and sugar. Add in vanilla and then flour and mix until dough forms. Cut circles, press flowers. Bake for 10-12 minutes
